4in1 Gauge Replacement

Post by russc3 »

Hello, all. The bottom half of my 4in1 gauge that shows fuel and trim level went out. I have received the replacement from Cobalt, which looks like it’s plug and play, but does anyone know how to get it from the dashboard? I don’t see how to release the old gauge and gain access to the screws to install the new.

I appreciate your help in advance!!

Behind the dash, there is a round plastic retainer that holds the gauge snug to the dash. The stainless threaded studs sticking out of the gauge will have a small nut on them that secures the gauge to the retainer.

Thanks! I see that when I lie on my back and look up under the steering wheel. It’s such a tight fit that I can’t detect where the gauge unplugs. How did you take that pic? Is there another way to get to that area? If I raise the seat in front of the dah, there is a partition blocking view of the back of the dash. Is that something that I will have to remove? I appreciate your advice in advance!
