The Cobalt guy said that the levers to allow the seat to swivel and rotate are now on the side so you have more convenience, but the seat isn't as firmly "locked in place" (my words).Tuscany wrote: Thu Nov 15, 2018 2:35 pmI agree, never a thought or an issue. Stainless doesn’t seem to get hot at all, but we live in the north.sailor55330 wrote: Wed Nov 14, 2018 3:45 pm I have the Del Mar seat and honestly have never had an issue with the SS. I'd think it would be irritating to have the seat move around under you as the boat is bouncing around. Can you share your experience with the seat?

Re: Del Mar Captain's Chair?
My opinion, and we know what that's worth, is both are probably comparable in comfort, is the bling worth the added cost? If I were to upgrade my seat, it would be to a go-fast style with tie bars to the sides and drop down seat bottom. I stand 90% of the time I'm driving and never use the flip up bottom, and often wish it had no bottom at all.

It's not an upgrade on the 219 boats. R3, R5, R7 all come standard with the Del Mar seat.akorcovelos wrote: Fri Mar 15, 2019 12:50 pm My opinion, and we know what that's worth, is both are probably comparable in comfort, is the bling worth the added cost? Re: Del Mar Captain's Chair?
My boat was equipped with the Del Mar seat. I always use the flip up bolster when under way. At anchor I don’t. My Glastron certainly didn’t have a Del Mar seat. Personally I don’t see much difference other than bling. I do stand when driving fast or at night because the stupid dash lights don’t dim and are blinding. If I don’t use the bolster the visibility is lousy and I’m 6ft tall
To me, it’s pure bling

I bought a 2018 R3 last summer in Arkansas and put 60 hours on her. Zero issues with the stainless and we DO HAVE HEAT.sailor55330 wrote: Wed Nov 14, 2018 3:45 pm I have the Del Mar seat and honestly have never had an issue with the SS. Granted, we do keep our bimini up 90% of the time.

Re: Del Mar Captain's Chair?
I have the 2019 R5 surf and am having trouble getting the chair to swivel freely. I can lift the lever to swivel it but it locks in position not allowing it to swivel freely. Anyone know the solution?

Re: Del Mar Captain's Chair?
On mine, I really have to hold the forward lever up as high as I can to get it to swivel freely otherwise it grabs at the various lock points. If you are holding yours up and it won't swivel freely, I'd say the cable has stretched or it is too slack and needs adjustment.Mjmyers wrote: Fri Aug 07, 2020 11:35 am I have the 2019 R5 surf and am having trouble getting the chair to swivel freely. Re: Del Mar Captain's Chair?
Our 2019 R3 apparently came with the Del Mar Captains chair. Another difference: we have the Stainless Steel Rail on our back flip seat.
I like that a lot. Nice to hold onto when switching directions. Plus we use it to secure towels.

Re: Del Mar Captain's Chair?
I looked at the crownline and cobalt this summer. They both had some wiggle in the seat. The Del Mar slightly less. I ended up with the R5 and once you put body weight on it you won’t notice it at all.

There is a twist handle to tighten the seat up once you have it adjusted. Once you tighten it up there is no wiggle.winniboater wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2020 7:12 pm I looked at the crownline and cobalt this summer. They both had some wiggle in the seat.
