Nice progress/

I have come to love the weather pack connectors you can get off Ebay when it comes to electrical now. Pretty inexpensive and very convenient for stuff like that. You can disconnect the wires, remove the bilge pump and clean it or replace it if need be pretty easily. And it keeps your connections waterproof. Not solder, or heat shrink needed.

So true X.
I literally just finished using those to rewire our Audi coil packs. Works like a charm. 👌🏻

Yeah, I have the weather pack set from DIYAutotune, great for harness building. I wanted to keep the original plug so it’s an easy swap to replace when it fails.

On the plus side, verified I have a roller motor, yay me!

So the wires were just cut and twisted together somewhere in the middle then? I thought the wires were just loose and tied together. That's why I suggested the weather pack.

Bummer on your water ways report. Any forecast of when things might open up?

Yeah, someone tried to extend the wires and hacked a bunch of extra wire in all twisted together. Both browns where twisted together, and the black was stripped and twisted together in 3 separate pieces. Once I removed all that nonsense and re-pinned the plug it all went back together right.

The lakes crested early this morning, and we just got an inch of rain in an hour, so they will be closed for at least a week or two depending on if we get a few days without rain...😢

Weather permitting I’ll get the sea pump back on tomorrow and get to at least hear it run 🤞🏻

Almost there! Had to squeeze some pool time in, too nice to spend all day in the bilge. Pool was COLD! Ordered a 50amp 240v pool heater to extend our season, but that’s another story.

I needed a little instant gratification today so I upgraded from the cheap plastic bilge through hull to a nice polished stainless steel unit.

Tomorrow morning I’ll put the throttle body back on, put the batteries in, fill the drive with oil, change the oil and all the filters, then I can hear it run.

Awesome day, got it all buttoned up. Made Mrs. akor record the first start up. Barely tapped the key, didn’t touch the throttle. It smokes and stalls because the VST was still full of the fogging fuel, but it idles 100% better. I’m pretty happy so far, sounds down right angry now! 💪🏼

Still need to change the engine oil and filters, Check timing, and install the new exhaust flappers, but the payoff was totally worth it. It will hold steady high idle so I can verify timing correctly. We’ll see how she runs when the lakes open up.
