Re: Cobalt Malibu Boat operation
Why sell? The bumper-sticker explanation: Fiscal year 2007 net sales were about $130 million. 2017, about $140 million. In other words, the fat lady was singing.
Why buy? Also the bumper-sticker explanation: Malibu's management team is very good at the big picture, i.e., at strategic planning. Plus, Cobalt's a high-value brand and the price was right.

Pack is running around in an '85 Condesa? No offense or anything Kate, but Pack seems like more of a 1997 Cobalt 190 kinda guy. Best hull ever made. I would argue the reason Cobalt sold to Malibu were decreased sales due to a lack of a 19 foot bow rider option.liquid wrote: Thu Nov 14, 2019 12:49 pmTheory: Kate is PackKate wrote: Thu Nov 14, 2019 10:59 am Why sell? Re: Cobalt Malibu Boat operation
It was sad day for boating indeed when the very last 190 rolled off the line in 2002. Pack could be heard openly weeping in his office. All workers were dismissed for the day and given free lemonades at the local Lemongarie. Some say that Legendary boat still sits in storage year-round somewhere in lovely Western New York ~ (Pack St. Clair) (Kate)NautiGirl wrote: Thu Nov 14, 2019 1:23 pmPack is running around in an '85 Condesa?
