Trailer steps
Do any of you that trailer your boat have any experience with steps on your trailer to help you board while launching and trailering your boat? I find I am wanting to go out more than my friends and family, so I am trying to figure out how to fly solo.
There are a several companies that make these but most are for bass boats.

Re: Trailer steps
Ramp n clamp looks like a very nice accessory. Do you have it on your trailer? It seems to have very good reviews. I would need to see it in action. I’d be uncomfortable pulling out on a steep ramp without the strap attached, especially with a boat as heavy as a Cobalt.

Re: Trailer steps
I would bring your trailer to a weld shop and have them fab up a custom set of steps that fit your set up perfectly.

Re: Trailer steps
Tuscany thanks for the advice. I Realy like what they did with your trailer. I’m too old to be hoping around on a spare tire.

Re: Trailer steps
Me too. I always launch and land solo. Tuscany has the best setup. The rest of us are just trying to keep up, and not to be "that guy" that falls off the bow when everyone is watching!

Re: Trailer steps
When I put the boat on the trailer I'm close enough that i can still hop off the stern back to the dock. Then walk around to the front. One day I may not have enough spring in my step to do this, but for now it works.

Re: Trailer steps
I like the low bow stop on Tuscany’s trailer. I am guessing that allows you to put the trailer further in the water for an easier winch or power load. If I put my trailer too far out the bow eye floats over the rubber stop.

Re: Trailer steps
I really like this skirt to keep the sun off! Is it a pain to put on? Over the years I've had 4 covers made, and I think the next one will come down to the boot stripe, but it'll be tight.

Re: Trailer steps
I would also suggest welding on some step plates on the frame rail so you can move around on something more that 1 1/2” wide steel. Slipping while trying to hook hurts..
