Hi gang
My service soon message popped up so I asked my shop. I just wanted to check what is necessary, and if I am missing anything.
I am going to have the impeller done, but this is what is being recommended:
- Lubricate Engine Coupler
- Spray engine with Corrosion Guard (seems unnecessary, I'm only in freshwater)
- Clean crankcase vent
- Clean IAC muffler
- Clean Flame arrestor
- Tighten connection of gimbal ring to steering shaft (we replaced the gimbal bearing this year, would this still need to be done?)
- Check MerCathode module operation for proper protection
- Replace PCV Valve
This is my first year with a boat so I don't want to miss anything...but also don't want to pay for things that aren't necessary. I havent noticed anything wrong, other than a slight vibration at low RPM. This could be normal, I have no idea.
Thanks for any input!!

All those sound good. Electrolysis happens in fresh water as you have power and grounds attached to different materials, and surrounded by water.
So go with inspection of Anodes and items that can prevent the corrosion picking metals you don’t want it too.
Add the outdrive service and pressure check along with oils and filters and your golden!

Ok I agree with Matt as usual. Fluids and filters. Not a bad idea to pull drive lube ujoints and align engine to the drive.jasondon wrote: Thu Aug 08, 2019 11:29 am Hi gang
