Three years ago. Zebra Mussels were discovered in our lake and in particular our marina. This year the waster is clearer (don’t you know the buggers are natural filters) and the clearer water has accelerated plant growth which is choking the water in the marina. One person told me his boat stalled exiting the marina. I’ve emailed asking for a deeper water slip, with less growth but who knows...

I’m wondering whether the DP setup will chop up the growth that accumulates? Where is the fresh water cooling intake?

It’s always something :(
Wasnt the 210 a dual prop? How did it handle the plant life?

We don't have a plant problem at our lake but I can't see dual props handling it better than singles. It anything the second prop is just another place to have plants tangle up.

Also I have made several jokes about 6-7' still not being enough, Katie has told me I cannot post any of them as this is a family site. Feel free to send thanks her way.

4’ is plenty, average where I boat, unless it’s a forward drive just trim up a bit until you get to deeper water.
Heck I yaks of in 3ft and I got 2k in props having under me.
Katie and I are currently playing our favorite game - what the heck is BBP trying to say. It's hours of fun for the entire family. Second part is easy - not even really a challenge for an experienced BBP translator - "I got 2k in props hanging under me."

But I yaks of? Thats tough. Kaite is currently reading it out loud over and over again, I think we may have it....

"Heck I back off in 3ft and I got 2k in props hanging under me".

Final Answer.

What do we win?
No winner.

Bob I boat nonstop in a sewer filled with weeds. The more you go in and out the less the seeds will effect you. Chew then up. Watch your temp. I've been lucky no issue's yet. No the dp won't chew them up any better than a single prop. Here's where your water intake is.

If you go to take off and it won't go you wrapped up with weeds. Put it in reverse all the time before taking off when you are in weeds.

Don’t over think it, reverse after you get out of the no wake zone to clear the props of weeds and drop the hammer.

I go to Palm Springs for 3 weeks every winter. Last December we took a drive out to see the Salton Sea. Apparently in the 50s this was a popular beach and boating spot with a half a dozen boat launches, campground etc. Since then the water level in the lake has dropped tens of feet and not only is there no longer boating or sunbathing but the increased salinity has killed everything in the water. It feels like Lake Winnipeg will suffer the same result due to Zebra Mussels. Pretty sad that our government couldn’t spend some money on prevention instead of trying to play the hopeless game of catch up now that the creatures have made it into the water.

We have zebra mussels in mn and they arr nasty. Many ramps have an attendantnwho will check your trailer. I think it might even be a ticketable offense if you transport from one lake to another. I know it’s illegal to trailer with a drain plug in. Never understood that as our engines will transfer water unless you winterize it on thenspot

We are a full day post delivery and still no update - you are KILLING me here Bob. There is no way I can properly start my 4th of July weekend without knowing our Canadian friend was celebrating the most American way possible which is of course running across the lake at WOT in a V8 powered boat.

Where are we at Bob?

He's stuck out on the lake. He doesn't have his bow and stern cameras installed yet to pull it into the slip

PS. Sorry Bob but that one was on a Tee. Or in the Crease as you might say in Canada.

I assumed he was stuck 5 feet behind the slip with a prop full of algae. Course its only 4ft of water so he could just jump out and push it into the slip?

A few more - I don't know how to resize these so I have to post 3 at a time.

I think the boat looks pretty sharp. I'm still in the first stages of the break-in, so popping up on plane and varying engine RPMs up and down for the first hour, so far. This boat is quite different than the A series (210) and there is a lot more to the boat than 2' additional length and 600 lbs. You sit higher off the water in this boat and it just feels heavier and less "sporty", but the ride is amazing and it turns well.

I had 8 people on the boat last night (4 adults, 4 kids) with one adult (me) driving and 3 good size adults sitting mostly to port. Coming out of the marina at dead slow the boat lists to the port from the unequal weight distribution but seemed to flatten out once we were running. The dealer talked me out of the trim tabs, saying they weren't necessary. I followed his advice and he is likely right, but if it bugs me I'll order the factory kit and just have the dealer install them.

Other than that small point, the boat is pretty amazing. There is plenty of space to hang out - cockpit, bow, plus the 4 kids hanging out on the aft deck/swim platform. It is much quieter running than my 210 as well, which is appreciated.

The premium sound is significantly better than the sound on my 210 (tested by a couple of 16-year-old girls and my 12-year-old daughter yesterday. Still, I wonder what the platinum sound is like. For the additional $600.00 I'd order it, but the premium is, well, pretty premium as well.

Not much else to report, but I'm happy to take questions.

BR

PS the Garmin glass cockpit is pretty cool stuff
