Cobalt Wakesurf Boats

Ha, she almost had me on board to get a tri-toon for "her comfort". I am glad we didn't go that route and I really hope she enjoys the new ride. She doesn't like bumps and she respects the lake (maybe a little to much for me and my kids)! It does concern me about the lack of trim tabs for use at higher speeds and how the ride will be. The "surf tabs" only work up until a certain speed then they automatically retract. Hope the ride at higher speeds is somewhat smooth.

On another note I am coming from a older 22 foot deck boat. Does anyone have any fender recommendations and sizing they could throw out for this size boat?

My dealer is also a Bennington dealer. He showed me a video of a new sporty tri toon. You know high hp, sports arch Yada Yada. 150K or somewhere around there. I told him I would rather not even boat if it came down to a tri toon

Yes, I've been through a bunch already.
Wh use three 12" x 35" Taylor tuff end fenders. http://www.boatersland.com/taylormade-t ... 12x35.html
They are big, protect everything and work everywhere. I also have a set of 15" round Taylor ball style for tying up to other boats.

Trim tabs on our boat really, REALLY smooth out the ride. I would find a way to reprogram the surf tabs if possible.

Thanks for the recommendation I appreciate it. That is a heck of an idea there has to be a way to reprogram/bypass for manual operation! I will have all winter to look into that.

With the size of those wake makers, you will only need a slight amount of deflection to make a huge difference. LOTS of pressure and definite failure if they were allowed to be used by some clueless "Joe" at speed. I can see why Cobalt lifts them at 15mph,. The fenders are perfect, but storage on anything big enough to be considered useful will be an issue on your boat.

Yes, The boat has been ordered along with a significant down payment made! Options can be changed up to a certain point and yes "boat porn" will follow!

Sooner, you have time to change anything and everything until your boat is scheduled to start. The build takes about a month from start to finish. Your dealer can give you that start date.

On the forward prop.
Safety wise..That could almost be standard issue, but I wonder how susceptible it is to damage. With its angle, it doesn't look like trimming it full up offers any more clearance when dropped down.

I'm with you here. This drive would never work where I boat. But other lakes no issue. I think you trim up actually looks like the props get closer to the bottom of the lake. I still don't like the thought of them I under there.
I heard great things on the ride and the auto full and drain features on the cobalt surf boats.
Strongman had been on some and I think he really enjoys it.

I fill up the night before we go out, usually one fill up every three outings. 91 octane non ethanol runs about 2.90 a gallon at gas stations around here.
