Hello cobalt chat, new member here! I’m Steve and have a 1978 Cobalt 19 closed deck. If you are on Facebook I’m sure you’ve seen my boat haha. Heard about this forum and finally decided to check in!

We live in Massachusetts and boat on the Merrimack and Parker river, with occasional trips up to winnipesaukee where we held the first Cobalt cruise.

Welcome from Oklahoma! Glad to have you here and let's see some more pictures! That boat looks like a cream puff.

She is definitely a cream puff, been stored in a garage for most of its life. It was my moms cousins boat who bought it new in 78 and had it all the way up until 3 years ago. I always loved the boat and dreamed of owning it.

Interior is 99% perfect and the exterior was a little oxidized. The main issue was the stringer drive... and the transom was completely rotted out. Rather than deal with the omc I began converting it to mercruiser alpha 1 with a vortec 5.7. It was a loooong road as I have never done this kind of work before, but I learned so much along the way and have a fantastic Cobalt now

Wow nice classic cobalt! And thanks for all the restore pictures. So cool to see people restoring classics like this and the family history behind it. Makes the value so much greater every time you get to take her out.

Welcome from Missouri! I hope to see many more pictures.

Thank you! We actually towed the boat all the way down to TRL last year for the regatta! We will be coming back this summer 2019. Hope to see you out there!

Hey I remember seeing your boat! I’ve got a red 262 with the factory arch. I actually keep it at the Harbor who puts on the Regatta so I will be there for sure! Hope we can meet and talk about boats. Here is a picture of mine

Hey Lockey14s, great intro post! So glad you found us my friend. That's some fantastic work you have done on her. Way to bring her out of the ER and back to life. Should be on the cover of a magazine. 8-)

Welcome aboard mate!
