If you're any good with a wrench get an older air cooled, 2 stroke sled. Put a basic tool kit, and a couple extra belts under the hood. They're like the VW Bug of snowmobiles, mediocre performance, but dead reliable and super easy to fix on the trail. I had a couple 80's Yamaha 340 Enticers that never needed any maintenance other than a carb clean every fall, which takes two tools and about an hour in the garage. It would actually be a good time to get materials for spring projects to the island if you buy a large ice fishing sled trailer.

The weatherman this morning said we will have 6+ inches of snow by Monday followed by the coldest air mass in 3 years. I can't wait until April!

Me too! After spending the last 20 years in California, I sort of forgot about how cold it can get around here. We are also fortunate to be heading for warmer weather soon, Florida in February and Hawaii in March. Hopefully, by early April we will see some lakes losing their ice.....

It gets old fast. I've been plowing all morning, and I just do my own properties. Came home and booked.
I'm going to be gone for half of Feb. Florida house and then a total $hit show coming up with us and 12 other couples in Cancun. I know how this story ends. .

Maybe down the road during part of the winter, but it’s more special to just hop a plane with the clothes on your back and go. I wouldn’t want to spoil it by living there..

For me that is the plan. 57 months until we spend at least 183 days in Naples Florida each winter. The 40 days a year we get down there each winter will have to suffice for now.....

Foot of snow then ambient-15 and win chills down to -40, 57 days until spring! My Wife flew in from Florida today and it was high 50s all but 1 day of the week she was in Jaxonville, so not exactly tropical.
