OK guys getting close to the date so I made some phone calls on our Thursday night dinner. Here is where we are at:

The Q39 location close to the hotel is not large enough to accommodate our group. They said we would be seated at tables of 4 or 6 and would be spread out across the restaurant. We could make it work, but I imagine the fights over who would get to sit with team Nauti would be a lot. Not the experience I think we want.

The original Q39 location is larger, but its about a 20 mile hike back into downtown KC. I called and they do offer a private dining room, but to secure it we have to commit to $2,500 in food and beverage. I know Matt is coming and can drink lemonade, but that's a lot. Their other option is "semi private dining". No drink or food minimums, but we would be served buffet style. They are sending over more info, but again not sure what we all wanted.

The final - and maybe best option is to head over to Joe's Kansas City. https://www.joeskc.com/ The double tree is in the middle of two of their locations, both about 5 miles from the hotel. They are sit down restaurants, and have delish BBQ, I have been. The downside, which is really maybe an upside, is that they are counter service. So you show up, walk up to a counter, order then your food is brought to you. Both restaurants hold about 200 people, so while we cant reserve a table we could all most likely sit together.

Those coming to KC what sounds best? There are a couple other BBQ places I could call up, Jack Stacks or Zarda, but really Q39 and Joe's KC are the best in town imho. I guess we could call up and make three or four reservations for parties of six, just seems like we would miss out on the experience of all sitting together.

OK guys - ignore everything I just said in the last post. I reached out to Char Bar which is a relatively new place in KC. The reviews look awesome, they have burnt ends, a beer garden with Croquet Boccee Ping Pong and Cornhole, and they were able to accommodate a reservation of 20. It is a little bit of a drive from the double tree, but we can make that work. Here is the menu and info: https://charbarkc.com/

We have a reservation for 20 there at 7pm on the 13th. See you guys there!

Hey NautiGirl, My flight from Boston doesn't get in to KC until 9pm on Thursday, so I won't be able to meet you all for dinner. But I would be up for some late night lemonade if anyone is still up. I don't fly back until Saturday morning, so I will be available for lemonade on Friday night too! I'm really looking forward to this little get-away.

We still need to come up with a place for dinner Friday. I think lemonade at the hotel or downtown? I would say I would be a designated driver but hear Matt is a bad influence.

What kind of food are you guys looking for in KC Friday? There are a TON of BBQ places, all with their unique flavors, but if you are tired of BBQ we can help you find something else. Or do we just want to get some lemonade and bar food?

Gdane feel free to chime in too. I havent been to KC in about 2 years so I am not up on the local scene.

I’m glad we’re getting dialed in! A big shoutout to team Nauti for helping us foreigners! And Gdane our Local KC tour guide worries he won’t be able to go back to any restaurant he frequents after bringing our crew together. Haaa.

No such thing as a “ bad call” that weekend, so from the gathering places that are found friday night I’m thinking after getting thrown out of neeodesha those options will be great.

I’m happy with anything convenient for Friday. I’m all about new experiences and dinning at restaurants I can’t pronounce.. Fun! Plus I’m a fan of Hotels with restaurants and bars combined. And we’ve got one so we can’t lose!

My Pastor did mention I should take it easy on the lemonade every weekend ,so no worries BB...Oh wait. Thursday-Friday hmmm never mind we’re good 🤣🤣

Thanks to Team Nauti for getting a lot of this organized. Our flights don’t land Thursday until 7pm so we are out for dinner Thursday but can do Friday. I know you are looking for head count. Any word yest or a meeting place for Friday morning departure from the hotel? Wasn’t sure if we were planning a caravan of cars.

Our count is up to 19 now with Tuscany and Liquid. I can't tell you how happy I am that several of Cobalt Chats original gangsta's are going to be there! I was doing the Happy Dance last night!

For the rest of youse guys riding the fence, jump on in and don't get hung up over thinking it. This trip will be worth it! There is no cutoff time as long as we get names and numbers into the factory so they'll be ready for us.

Chrisrock and I have been going back and forth about transport, so more info will come out as we get closer.

Turns out you will pass charbar as you drive from the airport to the hotel. The resturant is open until 11. I have a feeling we will be shutting it down. Stop by enjoy some post flight lemonade and ping pong
