I will never run this thing as loud as this can run, and it's still distortion free. Had to play with (lower) the input sensitivity on the amp quite a bit to get reasonable volume range available on the Sony head unit.
I stopped short of installing a sub. Not sure I need it. May change in the future but for now this setup is more than adequate.
Making the harness of wires for the forward port and the three starboard speakers, and running it all up around the bow took the most time. I was pretty anal about the details to be a clean install as well though to be fair. Got everything inside the factory wiring guides, old wiring bundled up and zipped away tight, etc. Was nice having both flexible wire snakes and the solid (but flexible) versions.

I'm also waiting to see if I feel like adding a sub.
Not sure I'm following what/how you set your gain. I set my head unit volume to 75% of max then using a multimeter adjusted the gain until I got a certain ac voltage. Did you adjust yours by ear ?
Pretty much. Basically I turned it way down on all channels until I had clean sound with no hissing or hint of static at super high volume on the head unit. Way louder than I would play music. Then lowered the front a hair more as that’s where kids normally hang out. Don’t want them getting blasted.

I did the same in the off season. Went with the JL M800/8v2 and installed the 10" Sub. I'm very happy with the sound. It's amazing the difference.

Thanks YT. Mine are actually multi-color. I hooked it up so the interior, speaker rings, or underwater can all be any color. I do like the color combo in the picture the best.

Awesome finish! I am thinking about the same thing. Could you tell me what brand, type etc of hole drill you purchased? I have some old ones and dont dare use an old dull bit.
Secondly, could you tell me where you ordered your flush mount charger? I am only seeing black ones around. Also they seem be only 15 amp plugs. I am not an electrician, but if the charger is sending 24 amps to the battery at max capacity, I would think a 25amp plug minimum would be necessary. What did you get and/or have you had any problems?

That is how it was when I bought it. I will likely get rid or 1 or 2 as they go bad.

The amp rating on the charger has nothing to do with the amps it pulls. Don't understand the math, but I think it has to do with the AC to DC conversion. My 20 amp is plugged into a 15 amp receptacle, and I have no problems.

The 24 amps is between your charger and the battery/batteries. No need for 25amp plug.
Jason, others have pretty much covered it. I will add the hole saw I used was a new one I had to get off Amazon, as the 1-⅞" size was not stocked locally in the local Lowe's or HD.
I used the Lenox Bi-Metal version as that's what all my other hole saws are, so wanted to be consistent. I think just about any decent hole saw would do fine on fiberglass. Amazon link for the one I used:
