On my brother's lake you can go as fast as you want anywhere. There is no no wake zones but you have to stay I think 200 feet from a dock. So my brother made a sign and it said "If you can read this your too dam close "

In our area if someone breaks the no wake or 5 mph zones and you get caught.. well not only is it a fine.. But our Sherrifs ask if there is any damage to boats, Docks etc as damage and liability can be documented and applied civilly to the person operating the cited vessel.
The Sherrifs ask to contact Niehbors and get back to them.

So where were we?? O yes.. walking off 200 feet. I’m tired 💤

While there are posted no wake zones in various places on the lake, such as the back end of coves, the main portion is only covered by the general rule against wakes within 100 feet of shore, 200 feet for wake boats, with an allowance for starting a skier. Each dock isn’t posted. There are many private docks not in coves. It isn’t usually a problem, just every once in a while wakes reinforce. We’ve had a boat for years without a walk-thru; the 220 is taunting the water in the eternal struggle against things that float, but the low stern sure looks nice, and probably won’t be a problem. I’ll have it in the dock tomorrow, and then we’ll see.

Boat is in the dock. Looks good. I'm keeping an eye on the transom. There was no problem with normal sized wakes today. I'll post some pics in the new user section in a day or two. Got five hours knocked off the engine break-in so far. A fun day.

To close out the question I asked, the answer is: yes. Water will indeed, with the right combination of wakes, flow up the walk-through. Not enough to sink it, but enough to reach the forward edge of the engine cover near the front of the walkway, where it runs along that seam and then down into the rear seat storage area, and the things in there can get wet. This will require some thought as to how to keep that from happening, checking the gasket on that cover, etc. Also, water is retained under the sea grass floor covering. When the engine cover is raised (in my case, to check the gear lube level during the break-in), the water runs down the now 40 degree angle cover and down on top of the rear battery. That just takes remembering that it is going to happen and placing a towel in the right place. That is how I found out the towels in the rear seat storage were getting wet.

Not a major issue, just thought I'd update the group as to what I found.

And, as expected, the sterndrive gear lube monitor bottle does need to be brought back up in range during the break-in. But the guy in the part department said "the first one's on us" when I went to get a bottle. 18 hours on the engine, having fun.

Does miring cover help when on?

Could you fabricate seething to go in the walk through when parked?

Yes, I believe the mooring cover does help, though that part is always wet in the morning. We’ll see what that does long term. And if need be, during the day when the boat is uncovered, two strips of the type of vertical channel used for the front wind door, on each side, would allow a drop-in panel to block much of the water.

So you're saying a wake will come over your swim deck and through your walkthrough and get water in the boat when it's just tied at the dock? On my 262 the lower swimdeck submerges all the time. If I chop the throttle the boat stands up and the transom goes down but never have I had water come through the centerwalk-through.Those must be some big wakes on your Lake!
