When out for the fireworks on Lake Travis on the night of July 3rd. First time I had been out on the lake at night with that many boats. Looked like a freeway on the way home. Most everyone was polite, and I'm glad I had my new interior lights, underwater lights, and my SIMRAD GPS. Made a world of difference. The boats with lighting were much easier to see. I felt a little safer thinking my chances of getting run over by a dummy were slightly reduced. GPS kept me in the channel all the way home. Felt like the add-ons were a great investment.

High Dollar mirror did me no good as I was standing up the whole way.

I completely agree man. When I got the final bill for my simrad it was a tough one to swallow. First night I drove to the fireworks it was about a 10-15 mile boat ride back. The simrad led me right on home and kept me in the Chanel. The moon had not rose yet so it was pitch black. I pulled into the slip looked over at the wife and said worth every penny.

We went up to Navajo Lake in northern New Mexico last weekend to visit my aunt. She lives about 10 miles away from the lake. 1000 mile round trip, had zero issues with the boat or trailer. The lake up there is really pretty. Longer and narrower than our lake here in Phoenix. Weather was beautiful, 90's during the day and upper 50's to low 60's at night. Water was low 70's, chilly compared to mid 80's here  .

Here's a couple pics of the lake, dam, and marina...

Oh, and the 502 is a DOG at 7200' elevation. Time to plane probably tripled and I dropped almost 10mph off top speed.

There was a skinny road over top of the dam, long drop each way. I thought it was pretty cool, took a video driving over:

Higher elevation means thinner air, which means less oxygen to burn. Engine power comes from the mixture of fuel and oxygen burning, so when you have less of it there's less potential energy.

Wait.. If temps are at or over a 100 In Phoenix how come your water temp is only mid 80's? Is it mainly snow melt in your lake? I axe because our temps can hit 90/92 sometimes, so we have to find a spring or creek current to stay cool. Usually our temps are mid to upper 80's though. I just figured y'alls water would be warmer?
