Hot Sauce question

Post by sailor55330 »

Hola-

So, based on all the great stuff I've read here, I took a chance and got some Hot Sauce. It does stink and it's not pleasant when the overspray gets in your eyes. As to how it works, I've only put it on once after washing the boat, so no real comment just yet. I'm always skeptical, so I always expect to be disappointed.

My question is does/has anyone used this stuff on a painted trailer? The website says it's safe for all painted surfaces, but curious if anyone has done that. I'm a little nervous since it has such a vinegar smell and it's designed to dissolve water spots that it actually has a weak acid base, which is not something I would put on a clear coat finish.

Just curious.

I use it on my painted trailer and my car. No issues. You can always call them. I'm amazed when i use it on my cobalt letters. That's where I can tell it works. Removes water spots and shines them right up. Great stuff but I wear gloves most of the time. I try to spray more on the boat then myself.

It does smell, which is why I always volunteer to do the inside with vinyl sauce while Katie does the outside....guess I gave that secret away when she reads this...

If you can get over the smell hot sauce works really really well, plus it comes /w the BBP seal of approval, what more could you want?

I use hot sauce every time as soon as we get the boat out of the water. Works amazing and we always get compliments on how clean out boat looks. We use all of the "sauces" actually for the interior as well. I kinda like the smell of the hot sauce though haha. It has that unique vinegary smell that at first I can't stand but then at the same time not so bad, maybe I like it kinda smell? And that made a lot of sense haha. Anyway, the condition sauce though, smells amazing.

On the bottle it says to use the sauce after every use of the boat. I apply it at the end of each weekend before I put the mooring cover on. Then the conditioner they say to apply monthly

TR, hot sauce every time. I don’t have a special applicator just use the softer side of an unused beach towel.
Vinyl sauce at the end of the weekend and condition once a month, sometimes every other month pending on use.

This might help some of you. I use a micro YT fiber mop to wash the boat. You could use that for the hot sauce too.
I wipe mine down 5 days a week.

I used after this past weekend of use and it worked great. I was impressed as I used to use Ducky doo (I think) on my sea doos and sometimes would have to scrub hard to the get the water spots off. My regiment will probably be to use Hot Sauce and the Vinyl Sauce when we are putting the boat up after a weekend.

I actually just bought one of these today because it is tough for me to reach the bow with a micro fiber cloth when on the lift.

This is why I love this forum and all of the smart people on here. This past weekend I couldn't reach the bow so I took the sea doo around front to get the bow the best I can! I know have a mop on order now!

Yep I use it to wash the boat too. Much easier on the back. Mine rotates and stuff. It fits perfectly between the chines.
Glad I could help out.

You sicko.

I practically invented the sauce. I put that sh*t on everything.

I am partial to the condition sauce - I use it in my car for no reason.

If you want to know how often and when to use what refer to the original bling thread... fine I'll dig it out.
