And I think I'm too early for the 6.2l unless I change my mind and order something - which means missing a summer on the boat.

I wouldn't give up that easily. They are going to be everywhere soon enough.
Your dealer can locate one. You are going to have to live with it for a lot of years. Might as well get it right.

Like I stated last week, if my boat couldn't be built with it, I would cancel and reorder.
Lucky me, I'm good with my timing, and in fact, they started my boat today..

Btw, what did you fly?

You know what - that's really great advice.

Maybe take a chill - I put down a deposit - but left myself an out. I really do think I should get What I really want and not compromise. I am going to have this a long time.

At 51 - I'd say it might by the last boat I buy.

Flew in the Army -

Started out in Huey's - then 58s - little birds - Cobra's - back to High Skid 58s and then the Lakota.

I was the last Cobra IP made in the army. That an $5 will get you a free Starbucks coffee - lmao

PS - I love the look of the A25 - but it's too small. Coming out of a Regal 2900 (02) I'm loosing space and a ton of creature comforts.

They honestly don't make them like they used to...

Heck at 51 I have 2 of them right now.lol. I'm sure the dealers are going to have some coming for inventory. The other problem like stated earlier is you are kind of locked to your local dealer if you want service. Yes sending the kind of money that these boats cost I would get what I want. Make a spreadsheet of pros and cons and see what wins.

Also thank you for your years of service!

I was thinking of doing this with the 2017-2016 pros and cons. Try that. Are you against the 8.2 mercury?

With all due respect to big block..
The 8.2L uses more fuel, and weighs a hefty 310 lbs more than the 6.2L., and won't make as flat a torque curve over the entire rpm range due to lack of variable valve timing technology.
The excess weight was the deal killer for me.
If Merc doesn't offer something from the 21 century, they will be giving up this entire segment...which is probably ok with them since their focus centers on the Verado outboards.

My build is:
VP 380CE 6.2L
Three Color Custom w/Edge + Hull Bottom Full Color $2554
Navy on Navy with white boot.
Tahoe interior.
Cockpit and bow covers
Makassar Dash/Interior Trim Pkg. $1255
Premium Sound System w/Transom Remote & Spkrs. $2250
Premium easy fold Bimini
Dinette with sun pad mount
Bow filler cushion
Docking Lights-Stainless Steel $1351
Flagpole w/Flag $495
Swim Platform Transom Lighting $407
Aft Walk-Thru Carpet $143
Floor Covering, Sea Grass $1591
Head, Electric with porcelain toilet
Cockpit sink console
LED Interior Accent Lighting (blue) $615
Remote Courtesy Lights w/key fob $305
Stainless Steel Foot Tread (helm only) $454
Battery Maintainer/Charger, 110v $472
Battery Switch, Dual w/ACR $417
Trim Tabs w/Indicators $1428

MSRP is 154k and change.

Downside IMO, Storage totally sucks, and a lack of a mounted, yet removable Yeti kind of blows my mind on a boat this expensive.
Nothing is perfect I guess, but this boat is close.

I actually love the built in coolers on the newer boats - my cooler in my regal is 15 years old but I have always hated it.

I love the ability to pull a plug and let it drain -

I'm confused because the HP is greater on the 6.0 vs the 6.2. Am I missing something?

I must say - I'm not unhappy with the 380s I've driven. They sound like a beast - and preform very well.
