Prop Question

Post by no_rulz25 »

So I'm a dummy when it comes to what is good and what isn't when it comes to props. I'm currently running DP SS F5's on my VP 300. With a couple people in the boat and fully fueled I can touch 50mph @ 5000 rpm. Is that good or can I get more out of it?

Ok what ci is this 300. T could be 100% correct if this is the new gen engine. If so we got some work to do on these rpms.

I saw that too. But if it still has the 5.7 /300 then he is where he should be. I can't believe it would be that under propped all of these years.
Did you trim up all the way when under way?

Oh crap did you just step in it BIGtime no rulz! Your new here so you didn't know that's an open ended question. Poor guy.

B.O.A.T. Your about to personally experience that acronym! The best thing we do around here is spend other people money and it has been a long winter! Hawt DAWG!

So yeah, you can get more. You definitely need new props...

Interesting on the rpm limit . but do we know elevation.. conditions.. and as BB stated trim? etc.

Still not sure I'd change to F4 props until we get more info. Could be back to same speed but having to spin it higher and lose cruise speed as well.

Good point..

So the word on the street is "Boating world" did a test on this same set up and got 48.6 mph.. so it apears to be what they see as well.

That would answer the " salt water theory " worth 1-2 mph due to be more bouyent? Sounds like she's in a good set up!

I always want more too!!

no rules. It would be nice to have a picture of the engine and the serial number tag for the engine. Do you know which block it has?
