So, along these lines....

I grew up in Seattle and at 6 years old, in 1956, my parents took me to my first Unlimited Hydroplane race on Lake Washington. I was hooked and that probably began my love and passion of boating. I didn't miss a race until I moved away in 1977. But I have continued to follow the sport a bit but as costs have gone up interest and sponsorship have waned. But there are still a half dozen or so races around the US per year.

This year the boats will be back at Lake Guntersville, AL June 22-24. I am planning to tow up from New Orleans about the 20th and back on the 25th. I'm not sure where everyone is but it would be cool if those of you that are close enough and willing, to meet up there. Here's a link to the race.

On the Club Cobalt Forum there are several that are within a day's drive and might be interested. Take a look and see what y'all think.

I was wondering where Lake Washington was. I used to watch those races all off the time. They would come to milwaukee and race Lake Michigan. good times.

Man that would be cool.

That weekend will be tough Shawn with current family plans.
Would love to fly in for the day though. We watch the races in Pit too.

Btw, that band —A 1,000 Horses is a bonus. Great sound. Saw them play in Nashville.

The Indiana race is less than an hour east of Louisville and about an hour west of Cincy.
