2018 Louisville boat show

Went to the show yesterday but didn't see any Cobaltian Kentuckians in pink t shirts. Also didn't see any Cobalts either. Marine Sales from Ky. Lake area said they were all set to bring some up but Cobalt told them not to the day before because they were working on a deal for new local owners & didn't want to cloud the issue.

For anyone in our area I can tell you these were some of the nicest people we have met. They introduced us to their fellow employees as "Cobalt" people and made us feel special. They wanted to know what model, etc that we had and made it clear that, even though they were several hours away, they would take care of us with either warranty or non-warranty items. I sure hope any new dealer that we get has their attitude.

I have found out that most motorhome dealers say "if you didn't buy it here, leave it here & we'll get to it after we service our customers". For all the service on my motorhome, I have taken it back to the factory in Alabama, as strange as that may seem.

Thanks for sharing that dub. Nice to hear the service oriented Cobalt model is still surviving in parts of the country.

A7, after seeing you refueling over Guam, other pics pale in comparison! We were in south Alabama last 2 weeks and toured the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola and it was fascinating. To just get a glimpse of what you guys do is something special. We plan to go back when B Angels are training.

Took no pictures at the boat show but plan to get some pics on this year. Truth is my conversion from 30 years of film & SLR cameras to digital & iPhones has not been without problems. Think I'm just stubborn. I know you guys (& Katie) don't actually believe we have a boat but we'll do better.

Speaking of pictures, there was an ad on tv for our boat show last week with pics from last year's show & there was our boat sitting there. We bought it about 2 months after the show. BB would say it would have sold sooner if it had had twin 800 hp mercs on it.LoL

That's why boat shows are so effective in sealing the deal.
After heading directly to the Cobalt display, my wife stepped into the R7 and said OK, this is it. Can we go?.
Of course I said hell no. After looking at everything else, she asked me if I've seen enough yet, and of course I said yes.

I wish I had seen your post before I went, Dub. I was disappointed not to see a Cobalt display. However, they also told me that a deal with a Louisville dealer fell through. I really hope we get someone local. Stokley's has been good to me, but I really don't want to drive 2 hours to a dealer.

I'll also add, I was just very underwhelmed with the show in general. I guess maybe now that I am a boat owner, I just don't get as googly eyed. There was a 'toon with twin 400 Mercs. I did get some Volvo Penta questions answered at Fred's Shed. I was really looking more for accessories. Unless you wanted a float for your beer cooler, a resort vacation, or a wakeboard, you were largely out of luck. It just didn't seem like the show I have always remembered.
