I think I'll swing by for some prime rib and a Christmas tree. Wow you can keep it. We have about 3 inches in the ground.

Looks a little chilly. Time to break out the sleds?

No sleds yet. Trails don’t open until till the 21st, when all of the deer hunters finish shooting at anything that moves, like people driving brown trucks or missing the target and shooting people in their homes...
Still snowing cats and dogs. It’s not that cold, maybe 28 degrees..

When I was in the U.P. we would get lots of lake effect snow. I remember 30 inches falling in 8 hours. True whiteout conditions. Trails opened some time in November or early December.

It has snowed here three times already. That’s extremely unusual. Once in a while we get a storm before Christmas but it almost always melts and then doesn’t snow again until mid January. So far it’s melted each time after the storm so no real accumulation but morning temps have hit low 20s a few days. Definitely atypically cold compared to the last 2-3 years.

It’s not as bad as it looks...
Ok, it’s bad..🤪

Lots of tragedies this year.
One lady was shot while walking her dog in her own back yard.
The dope who shot her mis-took her for a deer..from 200 yards away...at dusk, past legal hunting hours.
Although he tried to help the woman, and did call 911, the lady succumbed to her injuries died. Husband, kids..you know.
He is now facing manslaughter charges.
One guy in the next town over took a slug in the front fender of his brown pick up..yep, you guessed it.

I’m not a hunter. Not that I have anything against harvesting an over abundance of hungry deer, but I’m more of an animal lover and couldn’t ever kill a beautiful animal like that. I’d rather feed them, but it’s illegal here.
Anyway, NY wisely keeps all trails closed until the morons with rifles are out of the woods.

Ummm Tusc, 28 degres is CD. Just saying..
That's crazy snow!

I'm not a deer hunter either. I'm a shooter, but not a hunter other than feral pigs. They aren't much of a problem here yet but they're coming.

The game rangers say if we eradicate 70% of the wild hog population we'll get even. They reproduce worse than rabbits.

I dont ride my dirtbike in the woods during deer season either. I'm always afraid some hillbilly couldn't overcome the temptation.

Last summer I did about an 800 mile loop around the UP and about half of it was off-road. I ran across this marker was was amazed at how deep it gets. The snow, that is..
