It doesn't work like I had hoped. Basically you loosen 2 screws up top which allows the frame to rotate when you fold the arch. Sea Ray's setup is much better as everything rotates locked together so you can lower it and drive at the same time. You can't do that with the cobalt as the top frame would flop around.

Understand family time is so important! As my kids begin to move on in life I realize that more and more each day. Especially when they are to busy hanging with their friends to come home. At least they were to busy before we got the new boat!

Some vehicles scream men, and some scream ladies. Some are designed to attract women, and some are designed to attract men. ...and don’t you think vehicle designers have that in mind when they start the design process? Are they sexist?

So to clarify and hopefully remove anything offensive, I enjoy the soft and smooth lines of a GM truck, but I prefer the harder lines of the Ford..

I had my vanity plate pulled here in NY a few years ago, where EVERYTHING is an offensive front on people's lives., be it race, sex, religion, income level, weather, clouds, sun.. etc.
It was a pretty good too.. 2BZ 4 BS. I had the t for years...

I'm somehow offended Sooner. First because you have the audacity to not know there may be 64, and second, you are posting without more pics. You may be hearing from my lawyer.

I love the bow ladder on your boat. Pretty much how I told my trailer builder to do it, but not what I got. I was planning on sending it out for modifications. It needs a platform at the top, along with the horizontal hand rail, and better treads on the steps.
If you could, please include a couple more pics so I have something to show my welder.thanks..

Looks like you have some bunk hanging over, and rail room to move the ladder, winch and bow stop back with the boat. That would shift weight onto the trailer and relieve a couple hundred pounds of weight on your truck.

Looks like you have some bunk hanging over, and rail room to move the ladder, winch and bow stop back with the boat. That would shift weight onto the trailer and relieve a couple hundred pounds of weight on your truck.

Tusc, thanks and I will most certainly look at that option. I will say that I think the pics are slightly deceiving with regards to the amount of front end lift. My truck was lifted/leveled with aftermarket front coil springs and shocks and a block in the rear. By my measurements the front end was raised almost 2.5 inches while the rear was only raised 1.25 inches so it looks really bad when loaded. Airbags would help with the looks and obviously the headlights aim.

As stated earlier I have a Curt WDH that I planned on using to help with sway, reduce tongue weight, and keep it more level. In my initial observations I am afraid that the tongue on my trailer is too long for the hitch I have. I haven't actually measured it yet and plan to do so this evening. I have only driven 16 miles so far and a top speed of 60 in some really high winds yesterday and she performed a lot better than I expected. I really expected my front end to feel really light and it felt really stable. I really was counting on the WDH for the overall safety as even though I have not scaled it I know the tongue weight is well above the recommended amount. I have some time as I won't be taking it to our lake for a few months so my pulling will be very limited short distances and slower speeds.

Can you repost the side of your boat pic? We can compare where yours sits in comparison to mine. If you look at the side drain by the center of the tandems, it appears mine does sit back a foot further. I am not sure what build trailer you have, it may be specific, but my trailer is an R7 specified build.
That extra foot may be a lot of unnecessary tongue weight.

Hey soonerF....congrats on the birth of your new Cobalt & rig!

The front trailer lower cross-member sure looks close to the ground. Any issues with that scraping on your boat ramps when loading and unloading? It would certainly leave some marks on our drop angled ramps here in PA.
