Hard Engine Restart

My 2017 R3 with the Volvo Penta 300 HP engine starts fine when cold (initial start). But after the engine gets hot, and even after several hours of swimming, when I go to restart the engine the engine will crank for 30-45 seconds before starting. Has anyone else experienced this same symptom and found a cause/resolution? Thank you in advance for any support.

Sounds a bit like classic vapor lock, where the fuel in the fuel lines got hot from the engine after shutdown and turned into fuel vapor. No guarantee that's it, but things you can do are check/replace the fuel filter and water separator if there is one, and let the engine run idle for a while before shutting down (lets the block cool a bit) rather than going from cruising speed straight to shut off. Venting the engine bay can also help, either by opening the engine hatch or running the blower motor for a few minutes to get some of the heat out of the engine bay.
