Live/Active sonar: How to add (in-hull shoot-thru?)

I have a CS23 Surf and it has the newer (for Cobalt) Garmin dual screen (the smaller configuration not the large glass one the R series have).

What I'm wondering is:

How are people mounting the active sonar transducer to the ship(I want forward-looking to be more aware of the shallow areas where I boat, so I don't damage my hull on rocks/debris).

Are you integrating them into the existing Garmin screens?

Are you able to mount them in-hull / shoot-thru without having to drill through the hull?

Do they provide a good forward looking view?
