Adding Underwater Lights to 2024 Cobalt R6
I am looking into adding underwater lights to my Cobalt R6. I have the underwater light switch at the dash and the wiring behind the motor. How do I integrate them into my Garmin 8610 to change color and dimming?

.
So glad you found us OHR. Would you by chance be boating on that river?
We added the external lighting but not with the Garmin integration. Hopefully someone here will chime in with that mod.
Any pics?
And welcome aboard mate.

Bump --- Id like to know the answer to this also. What did you find out? I can do a set to the switch but the full integration would be nice.

I don't have an 8610, but I'm curious how it would be able to change color and dimming of ambient lights. Is there a screen control that suggests it can do that?
I think it can control certain marine stereos (e.g. Fusion) over a NEMA2000 network, but it looks like you might need a completely separate RGB controller to control lights in Garmin's ecosystem - see https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/726218

Shadow caster should be able to integrate with the garmin on the NMEA 2000 backbone. It should also be able to use the factory button to turn on and off as well as the mfd

Re: Adding Underwater Lights to 2024 Cobalt R6
Has anyone figured out how to do this? I have a pair of these I would like to install and integrate with the Garmin controls.
Thanks,
Joe

Re: Adding Underwater Lights to 2024 Cobalt R6
Are you over-complicating this a little? A simple on-off style RGB light or a RGB controller with a remote will do the same thing without using the Garmin. I get it that integrating everything seems kinda cool but ultimately. I would spend the money on the lights that I wanted and not worry about the Garmin interface unless I was trying to integrate multiple sets of lights on a large yacht. But then again, Cobalt is the ultimate B.O.A.T. (break out another thousand)!

Haha, thanks for the reality check. I just spent $1200 on 2 lights and was hoping for a "plug and play" solution if the controls were already available. The boat has RGBW lights on the tower, speakers, and cockpit that I can control from the garmin so I know the controls are there. I just don't know how to tap into them. I'll probably just go with a simple controller if I can't figure it out.

I just went with the blue-white sea blaze lights since I really only like the blue anyway! The Lumishore lights have a command module that is compatible with the Garmin but probably have to have the dedicated Lumishore light (but maybe not!).
