I am having an issue where the trim tabs on my R6S do not retract when I press the rocker switches on the dash. The tabs will deploy via the switches, but not retract.
They retracted once, which I believe was while surfing, but I have not been able to replicate what caused them to retract in water sports mode. I have tried engaging water sports mode and then selecting “Trailer” to see if that would help, but no dice. Cobalt has advised resetting the garmin system, also no dice.
As you can imagine it’s pretty frustrating not being able to retract tabs, as it can cause the attitude of the boat to be very erratic.
Anyone have experience with this issue, or thoughts on what else I could try?

So glad you found us Mt…
Have you searched for any loose connections under the dash or in the transom?
And welcome aboard mate.

Re: R6 Surf Trim Tab Issue
I have looked for loose connections and could not see any obvious issues. The tabs deploy by pressing the rocker switches while the boat is underway, but do not retract. I would assume it’s just one connection that drives the actuator, so if it works in one direction it should theoretically work in the other direction.
I have had my wife watch for movement while the boat is on the trailer, but they don’t move in either direction. Not sure if this is by design and the engine needs to be running, or an issue.

Re: R6 Surf Trim Tab Issue
Troubleshooting is no fun, but I'd try disconnecting the wiring harness from the trim tabs and seeing if I can move them without all the boat circuitry involved (e.g. by supplying the right signal if they're electric or ensuring the pump is pumping at pressure if they are hydraulic). Then trace the issue back through the wiring harness, switches, and anything else that may be involved.
