190 with a 5.7

If this is in the wrong location please forgive me.
So I picked up a nice little winter project (I think) which is a 96 190 that the previous owner swapped in a NEW 5.7 250hp mercruser in 4 years ago, he ran the boat 1 season, bent the prop and then it sat till I bought it.

With a battery and quick prime and its running smooth as butter but im sure ill go ahead and clean the fuel tank, all fluids and clean the carb.

Now on to my question, the boat originally came with a 4.3 and still has the 1.81 gears and had a bent up 23P prop on it.
Does anyone know what prop would have came standard on the 4.3 with 1.81 gear?
Would it best to swap to the 1.47 gears or just increase prop pitch?

Also anyone know how to get to the back side of this cushion to put the bolts back on it?
