filler cushions

Post by sbournazos »

I have a 2022 Cobalt R6. I just ordered and received the bow filler cushions. They came in 3 storage bags. Each bag contained a cushion and a plastic base. It looks like the base should be screwed to the bottom of the cushion. The dealer I bought them from is clueless. Does anyone have the filler cushions ordered with the boat? If so is the plastic base attached to the cushion? Thanks is advance. I hope this makes sense.

Well back in the good Ole day of 2003 mine are screwed in. It's a bit heavy maybe that's why they didn't? Go ahead and run some screws in them if that's the you want it? It's got starboard so your good. Can't hurt anything.

We have a 2022 R8S with that option. I'm 99% they are screwed to the base, I would imagine they are glued as well, but don't know for sure. When I get home tonight I'll take some pics for ya.

Here you go.... I think I miss understood your post, I've purchased filler cushions with all of my boats and they have all been attached to the plastic base. I thought you were asking if they were glued or screwed on. Hope this helps you with the dealer.

It's on the other side. I didn't realize he was asking if it's attached. I thought he was asking if it was screwed on or glued on, it's attached looks like with screws.

We like ours we usually have them in, it is sort of a pain to put the tent poles in the center cushion has to be removed. Here's a pic of them for ya BB!

He was asking that.
So I leave mine in as well. I have lots of extra poles so I cut 1 down and I have a wide plastic base I use so the pole isn't poking into the cushion and that works great.

😂😂😂
For the base I used a shrink wrap plastic 2x4 holder.
That cushion is too heavy to take in and out everytime. Lol
Plus the pole has the snap on it to snap to the cover.

Question - We have an '22 R8 Surf - if we order these cushions now, do "receivers" need to be installed on the boat for the latch hardware shown in the pic?
