Looking for some help naming our new r8

Post by Justinb »

Hey guys looking for some inspiration with naming the boat . We love summers at the lake , our dogs Ted and stew relaxing with friends and family , a nice cold beverage, it would be cool to tie in the colors of the boat for some word play . We also enjoy recreational shooting and sig sauer as a brand . Appreciate all the suggestions guys . Help us name the newest family member!

Beautiful boat! Find a great meaningful song - we did, and it has been a fun boat name - EVEN FLOW, a Pearl Jam song for our '22 R8 Surf. Also, don't just use vinyl stickers - spend some time, get some acrylic or stainless steel laser cut - looks nice on such a great boat.

Not a bad choice - would be fun to get the "R8" in a typeface similar to Cobalt's

Old Style #7 is the Cobalt Font. This company cuts acrylic and stainless steel letters if you really want it to look pro! I have no affiliation with them, just used them for our R8 Surf name and registration letters/numbers.

She's a beauty - like the grey / black combination. As far as names, that always seems to be a personal thing, usually related to something else in your life. I have not named my smaller boats, but my old SeaRay 290 was named "Little Lady", the nickname I had for my wife when we were dating and first married (now I call her "yes mam"). Another example is a good friend that was in the mortgage business, named his 300 SeaRay "Loan$um".
Regarding the R8 something that just came to my mind, not sure why, is "Figure 8"'.
Also, think about the name sounds if you will be using your VHF much, we I boat I don't even have a VHF, but if you are on the coast for example a name like "What sea said" get's old on the radio real quick.
Anyhow, sure you will come up with something, but those are just my thoughts.
