Help syncing Fusion Stereo and Garmin 8610 Screens
I recently got a 2022 Cobalt R6 which has the Fusion RA-670 stereo and dual Garmin 8610 chart plotter screens and a Fusion MS-SRX400 transom controller.
When I press "Media" on the Garmin screen to pull up the Fusion stereo I'm getting a screen on the Garmin that says "the preferred media device is not currently available. Wait for it to become ready, check the connection, or choose another device from the list. I don't see any list on the screen? I have talked to other Cobalt owners with the same set up and they are all able to see their Fusion stereo on their Garmin screens.
I read on another chat site that someone had the same issue and the dealer fixed it. The problem was that the manufacturer never plugged in the Nmea 2000 plug into the Fusion.
The dealer said that they did not make that connection at the factory. When they went to fix it the wire was sitting there just not plugged in.
Anyone know how to access the back of the Fusion on the dashboard? Do you have to go and remove all the amplifiers in the storage compartment in the bow in front of the cockpit?
I also read that if you connect the Ethernet cable from the Fusion to the Garmin MFD in addition to the NMEA 2000, you will get you album art on the garmin display.
My question regarding this is I have the transom Fusion MS-SRX400 controller. So I assume that the transom controller MS-SRX400 is connected to the RA-670 through the ethernet connection on the back of the RA-670 (there is only one ethernet input on the RA-670) so I guess I would have to buy this: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/250/pn/010-00351-00/
Thanks in advance for your help

Great set up and classic color combo that will never go out of style. Thanks for posting those.
Curious what VP powerplant you went with to push her along while exploring Lake Meade?

Re: Help syncing Fusion Stereo and Garmin 8610 Screens
I actually bought this used from the previous owner who had it on Lake Mead. Pictures as you can tell were from when it was at Lake Mead, good eye. Only 25hrs when I got it. I had it trailered it across the country to Long Island New York. It has the VP 350 hp. Seems adequate. Tops out at about 52 MPH. Cruising at 25 to 35 mph no problem. Water skiing, wakeboarding and tubing all great.

I had the same issues on my R4 and did a post about it....
The plug is behind the fusion unit but Cobalt didn't plug it in...not joking. Dealer had to just plug it in and worked like a charm. They did need to clip some zip ties to get slack.
I'm 99.99% sure that's what's happening with yours.
Feel free to PM me and I'll send you pictures.

Re: Help syncing Fusion Stereo and Garmin 8610 Screens
BRDad, you get to it by removing a panel behind a flip-up seat in the bow? My 210 doesn't have enough in common with today's R series to assume it's all the same, but that was the common method on most older Cobalts (and was on my boat).BRDad wrote: Mon Oct 31, 2022 4:33 pm I had the same issues on my R4 and did a post about it....

you could conceivably get to it by under the helm. It's very tight in there, but it would save you from having to remove things. If you're lucky the NEMA wire is already there an you simply have to plug it in and tighten.jhnmdahl wrote: Tue Nov 01, 2022 10:04 amBRDad, you get to it by removing a panel behind a flip-up seat in the bow?
