2006 282 Adding Bow Sprayer

Post by CameronDenison »

I am going to add a sprayer (same as transom shower) to the bow of my 282 in the anchor locker. I'm pondering 2 options to do this and need some of the help of the experts in this forum.
Option 1 - Tie into the potable water system that feeds the 2 sinks. The pump is located under the port side rear seat. I could add a tee to the existing line and run pex pipe up to the bow. Question: What size is the existing potable water lines? It looks to be similar to pex piping but I cannot tell what size it is.
Option 2 - I bought a replacement pump for the potable water system which I did not use. I could tie into the raw water system that runs to the head, utilizing the replacement pump to push the water to the bow sprayer. But this would add additional fittings and lines with raw water running through the boat. Does anyone know where the raw water line is run from the stern up to the head? I can't seem to find that line. I'd love to be able to tie into that line on the bow side of the head alleviating the need to run around the head with the water line.

Any advise or feedback is appreciated.
