Re: Garmin's failing intermittently
If it cranks up your engine, It's not your batteries.
Use your multimeter and check the voltage at the plug going into the Garmin. You will have to disconnect the plug to check.
Well lo and behold I found the problem. The circuit breaker/fuse panel under the bow starboard seat somehow lost the ...

Re: Garmin's failing intermittently
There are 2 identical relays beneath the helm. Did you replace both? Only one controls both Garmins, but maybe you replaced the other one?
Yeah I replaced both. I’m losing my mind trying to figure it out. I’m hoping it’s just my batteries are weak and it’s not getting the right voltage to crank ...

Re: Garmin's failing intermittently
Ok boys. Replaced the relay and no help. The screens are still intermittent. The screens aren’t failed, just somehow not getting power because my zero off cruise control isn’t lit up either. Assuming it gets power from the screens as well. Other than the relay, any other ideas before I take it to ...

Re: Garmin's failing intermittently
Just started having the exact same issue on my 2019 R5 surf. Started happening today. Going to check the relays in the morning. Thank you all for the information. If I understand right, the relays are under the helm? And what website did you order the replacement relays from? Specific part number ...

Re: R6 Surf Trailer
What's the difference between the 2 trailers or boat hulls? Can you not move / extend the bunk boards or bow stop to make the R6 trailer work correctly?
Good luck with your sale. Post it up on the for sale section.
There’s quite a bit of difference. Theres just enough difference with an R6 ...

I’m working on that as we speak.Titaniumboy wrote: Fri May 10, 2024 1:30 pm If the dealer made a mistake why aren’t they still on the hook to correct it? Not that much time has passed if you bought the boat last year.

R6 Surf Trailer
Hi Guys. I bought an R5 surf last year and the dealer set me up with a new trailer, however it is for an R6 surf. I didnt realize it until it was too late and so now I am stuck with it. It is a Boatmate trailer and a super nice one at that, but my R5 surf does not fit correctly on it. I have found a ...

R5 Surf (350 engine) Lower Unit Oil Change
Hi Guys,
Appreciate all of the help I have received from everyone with some of the questions I have had. I like doing a lot of my own maintenance (within reason) and had another question. Ive searched the web and can't find much on maintenance on these Volvo Penta FWD drives. Looking to change the ...

Re: 2020 R5 - Tower pre-wired?
Yes it does. Mine come on as well. Is the extra plug in case you want to attach more lights to it? The speakers I’m adding have lights in them so I’m assuming there’s a wire that will power those. Just didn’t know what the extra plug was for.

Re: 2020 R5 - Tower pre-wired?
I know they come pre-wired on the manual fold tower. Pop the four plastic covers where the speakers mount and you should see the wires. They drop down on both sides. You should be able to see the port set by opening the bench seat where the breakers are and looking up toward the mount.
I’ve ...
