Re: Garmin 743XSV Chartplotter with Airmar B150M in 262

KTV262,
You lost the signal for the depth gauge on your speedometer because the new B150M is only connected to your Garmin chartplotter and that’s where your depth gauge reading is now located. I don’t know of any cable adapters that would allow you to split the signal and send it to your dashboard ...

A7, I've always liked the WSS models too but you sure don't see many out here on the west coast!

Post a 78 flight deck pic when you get a chance. Amazing machine.

Re: One of those "what do you do" threads...

So I’ve enjoyed reading all 18 pages of this thread and we have some very diverse backgrounds. So here goes mine…I grew up in Southern California and spent a lot of time camping at all the Colorado River chain of lakes - Lake Powell, Lake Mead and Lake Mohave. Some of my best memories as a kid were ...

Re: Cobalt 262 trailer length

I have a 2011 Cobalt 262 and my storage unit is exactly 30' long. I had to have a my trailer modified with a swing away tongue in order it get it to fit inside my storage unit and I'm now sitting at 29'6" which leaves me with just enough space.

Re: Garmin 743XSV Chartplotter with Airmar B150M in 262

Really nice job on that installation! I put mine in last summer shortly after buying a 2013 242. I was nervous the entire time I was doing it! Did you find it difficult connecting the gages to your Garman? I’ve read, reread and still a little afraid to tackle that part of the job. Suggestions? I ...

Re: Depthfinder transducers

Yes, I already had a Airmar P319 (non-CHIRP) transducer from the factory that has a 2 inch diameter and I really didn't want to cut a bigger hole in the hull. I just removed the old transducer and replaced it with the B150M from Airmar and used a Garmin 12 pin to 8 pin adapter cable. Very easy ...

Re: Depthfinder transducers

I'm interested in how the Airmar transducer works with newer, GPS/Fishfinder combos...I understand that the old one that came in the boat originally may not be compatible with the newer units, but I know that adapters exist and different Airmar models also exist...
But if you have a glued down ...

I agree, not to many Cobalts out west...I had to go to Oklahoma to find my 262 and here is a shot when I still had OK tags on it.

Looks like a nice product Mluters. Thanks for posting pictures. I will say the perfectionist in me has a hard time reconciling the rectangle Garmin overlapping on a trapezoidal background. Regardless, enjoy the update!

Garmin 743XSV Chartplotter with Airmar B150M in 262

So I decided to finally install a chartplotter and replace the factory transducer after seeing others on this forum complete the task with a very OEM looking install. I decided on the Garmin 743XSV because of the size and features...it’s probably overkill for my needs but it has a faster processor ...
