Re: USB ports not working

Yes, the charging feature is not working. Not sure about data transfer or music as the owner had music playing via Bluetooth. We tried 3 different cables and 2 devices.

USB ports not working

Neither USB port in a 2018 R5 is functioning. The starboard one has a blue light, which is illuminated, while the port side has no light feature. Strange that Cobalt would install two different ports. Anyway, everything else electrical in the boat functions and there are no popped breakers. I’m ...

Re: 220s rudder indicator

Get a bottle of bright fingernail polish. Turn the wheel all the way to the right (or left). With the drive out of the water, count how many revolutions to the left it takes to center the outdrive. My 220S is 1.3 turns. Now paint a bright dot of the nail polish on the top of the black center spacer ...

Re: Cs22 / cs23 4-in-1 gauge information

Cobalt has informed my dealer that the 4-in-1 gauge, if not procured before the build with a pre-productiuon change order, cannot be installed in place of the speedometer without voiding my warranty, even if the service is performed by the dealer. Good Lord?!?

Re: Things to Look For Upon New Delivery

I think at least some of the corrosion issue was my fault: I used to (now I know better) raise my drive all the way up when the boat was stored on its lift, which itself is vertically challenged. It's possible that I had my MerCathode just barely out of the water, while the forward prop and skeg ...

Things to Look For Upon New Delivery

For anyone about to take delivery of a new 2021 Cobalt 10-Series, here is a partial list of Quality Control issues we had to deal with last year. Not on this list are other things like an intermittent speedometer and substantial corrosion on the lower unit, just ahead of the inboard propeller. Make ...

Yes, it is a great boat, overall: quiet, luxurious and that great Cobalt ride!

Re: Cs22 / cs23 4-in-1 gauge information

Thanks for replying! What do you mean it only worked 60% if the time? The sales guy told me the speedo dial is tied to gps and not pitot tube anymore. Also hate to say it but I think they deleted the lcd on the speedo dial even for standard helm setup. I drove one, this exact boat, take a look at ...

Re: Bimini hard to fold

Compounding this alignment issue is that ALL of the supports you need to attach are designed to have at least one end be able to spin freely. Of my 2020 220S's 6 support poles, 2 were frozen or had internal corrosion that would not allow the ends to spin. A little spray of WD-40 solved most of the ...

Re: Cs22 / cs23 4-in-1 gauge information

I am in almost the exact same situation. I ordered my 2020 220S with the Garmin flanked by speedo and tach. I was very dismayed to find that by purchasing the Garmin option ($2500 for a $800 display), Cobalt stiffed me one more time by deleting the standard boat's speedometer with two scrolling info ...

Re: Bravo III corrosion

Yes, I have electricity on the dock, but before I go any further let me give special thanks to XLI for offering local help with my situation. I am hoping my dealer can resolve this issue, so I'll hope to not need your services as of now.

I have both a 12V, solar-regenerated, battery-powered lift ...

Re: Bravo III corrosion

Good Lord! So I should have kept my drive completely submerged to expose more anodes to the water? I am still learning here, so take my annoyance with a grain of salt.

Yes, I have both of the disc anodes and yes, they were probably out of the water for most of the boat's down-time on the lift ...

Re: New Member

Thanks again, I'm glad to have found a new boating family.

She's on a vertically-challenged lift, with her skeg and inboard prop submerged most of the time. No other boats within 50 yds. Same lift, same place as the 35 yr old Cheetah with a pristine Alpha I drive showing no signs of corrosion and ...

Re: Bravo III corrosion

Thanks for the quick replies everyone. I just went back through all the closing items, and no prop shaft anodes were included.

Yes, it came from Pinecrest Marine in Fishers.

The boat was on a vertically-challenged lift, with the inboard prop and skeg mostly submerged all summer.

Bravo III corrosion

This pic is our 2020 220S’s lower unit with only 50 hrs and 5.5 months in a southern Michigan lake. We sold a 1986 Cheetah to make room for this and its Alpha I drive looked immaculate after 36 yrs! What in the world will this thing look like on the same timeline?!

The Mercathode system indicated ...
