Re: It's all about the bass...

Last season we replaced the factory 2017 vintage JL MX Series 10in Sub in our R5 with a JL M6 10in and then also added a second JL M6 10in under the passenger seat. The Subs are wired in parallel and powered off a single M600/1 JL amp, so getting about 300w each. Adding the dedicated Sub Amp ...

Re: It's all about the bass...

Super clean install! Im sure this sounds amazing!

James, any reason not to go with the JL XDM600/1 for a 250W 10" sub? I do like that it has the power and the built-in terminals to add a second mono sub as well.

I'm not James but Ill but in my 2cents.

Best reason is b/c 600 is more than ...

Re: JL Stereo System Install

@DockRocker

Old thread here, but firstly that is a clean install!

Second, I'm wondering if your JL Audio M6 IB sub caused any rattle in the console, hull, etc.

I've also got a 2008 Cobalt 222, and the only part of my sound system I have to complete is the sub. I'm back and forth between an ...

Re: It's all about the bass...

The easy part is done - the speaker arrived today, and I can confirm it plays bass. I was a bit surprised they include some box tunings and Thiele-Small parameters for the speaker should you want to build or tune your own enclosure, but mine will be a more typical infinite baffle install. The ...

Re: 2nd sub install position on R7 surf

We added a second 10 in to our 2017 R5 last year - I believe the port seats are roughly the same size so I believe this placement would work for you also. A couple thoughts:

Adding a second sub in parallel on the M600/1 is a perfect setup. It puts a 2ohm load on the amp and sends about 300w to each ...

Re: Bilge pump running when at slip, worried about it draining battery and why?

I'd be worried too. We have left our boat in the water for weeks at a time and I dont think the bilge ran at all over those 7 days.

I would figure out where it is leaking from...and quickly as your correct the pump will be draining the battery.

Re: Spring 2026 Photos

Spring is close for sure, I have started making a list of things we need to do to the boat prior to Memorial Day. Here is a picture from late last season. Helps me to remember that spending all the time and money on the boat is worth it when you get the lake to yourself on a night with a sunset like ...

Re: New Cobalt flag pole kit installed...

Your flag install looks great.

Does the quick links make much noise rattling against the pole? I’ve got carabiners attaching my flag to the pole and the noise drives me nuts. I keep thinking the noise is coming from my outdrive or the motor.

They do make a little noise. The first time I heard ...

Re: New Cobalt flag pole kit installed...

Fun fact - Cobalt No Longer uses flag poles and mounts manufactured by Tig Tech...and let me tell you Tig Tech is not thrilled about it.

Our R5 did not come w/ a flag pole - first order of business was of course to add one, a Cobalt isn't a Cobalt w/o a Flag Pole, I will fight people on that. So I ...

Re: R4 Trailer Bow Stop Position

I went down a pretty deep rabbit hole of trailer setup when we started towing heavier boats. Even bought a tongue weight scale. The wife loved it. What I found is a few inches can make a huge difference - that's what she said. I also found that at least in my experience Heritage puts more weight on ...

So glad you found us gb…..

A 26’ (really 27 ish with the platform) is under powered with a 350. That’s why it’s not selling IMHO.

If you don’t plan on doing much water sports and like to just cruise occasionally then this is the boat for you.

And welcome aboard mate.

The boat will start because if the person is overboard you want the remaining people on board to start engine and be able to rescue person overboard.

I get it. It’s not like my Sea Doo where the lanyard is both a key and a safety cut off for when the operator falls off. It would be nice if ...

Re: Mooring cover, Malibu parts

I'm definitely going to check these Commercial sewing/ Malibalt covers out. I tried the cheapskate route and bought a Seal Skin online. The advertising says it will fit my boat. Was very disappointed, looks like it was made to fit A boat, just not mine. Appears to be a general V bottom 22-23 foot ...
