Re: New boat panels.
I agree. Huge upgrade in my opinion. My uncle ordered this boat new in 1998, he disagreed with the change… oh well it’s what I like. Marine mat for carpet next unless anybody has different suggestions.

New boat panels.
Ordered new interior panels for my 226. Was a lot of work to get them swapped but the difference is amazing. Big shout out to Technographics!

Re: Overheating issues again
Well I successfully fixed my overheating problem. I pulled out the oil cooler and sure enough it was full of some kind of plastic junk, rocks, and other nastiness. Cleaned it all out put it back together and went for a test run and it runs perfect at 175. No rise or fall at any throttle position.

Re: Overheating issues again
Looks like the engine pull was necessitated by a snapped transom plate. After getting better water flow from flushing with the hose, I’m thinking there is something plugging the system most likely at the oil cooler. I’m going to start there and see what I can find. This is very frustrating as I’ve ...

Re: Overheating issues again
“Pull the engine” are you kidding? That seems excessive. Would this condition happen that rapidly? Seems like it’s more of a “burst pipe” rather than a “slow leak”.

Re: Overheating issues again
I’m still thinking there is a problem. That engine should be running at a steady 170-180 at all throttle positions, and it’s heating up beyond that. Additionally those exhaust manifolds are running way hotter than I ever remembered them being. The problem is better since flushing the system but it’s ...

Re: Overheating issues again
I took apart the impeller and its in perfect shape. Flushed the intake hose and the output and water cane pouring out. Then I took apart the fuel and oil cooler and all the other hoses. All free from obstruction. Put it all back together and took the boat to the lake for a ride. It seemed better and ...

Re: Overheating issues again
I do remember earlier this season that the starboard side exhaust riser and manifold was 10-15 degrees warmer when running than the port side. Not sure if it is related, but I think I’m going to start with Recirc pump. I doubt it’s ever been replaced or worked on.

Overheating issues again
As some of you may know, I had impeller issues earlier this year in June that caused overheating issues. Since replaced my boat has ran great.
Went to the lake on Saturday for a get together, and reluctantly had to beach the boat On super fine sand. Ran good all day and the very last trip had a ...

What other items would you recommend I replace. Boat only has 360 hours so not quite sure what needs to be done. Thanks.

Re: Intermediate Shift cable 1999 226 454 merc B3
I ordered a new OEM outdrive. I’m wondering if I need to change the gimbal bearing or anything else in the transom before installing the new drive.
