Re: Add a JL Audio subwoofer (or two) on the cheap

Its a free air sub so I dont know how well it will like a box? When I was 16 I knew all these answers but since subs now come factory I really dont pay ...

Re: New Member- New to us Cobalt 282
So you're saying it'll never grace the muddy waters of Cheney. 😂🤣
LOL!! I wouldn't say that necessarily! As close as it to us I'm sure it'll see some time in Cheney. Plus we have lots of friends that go out there. Where do you spend most of your time?
Cheney. We can be on the water in ...

Thanks for the info. I will have to keep them in mind also when it comes time to get the panels redone. Love the progress reports. Great looking boat!

Re: New 226 Owner Here!
Any performance report? Also just bought a 226 with the 7.4gi. At 1300 elevation with 2 adults on board and 3/4 tank of gas we got 53mph. The tach wasn’t working the previous week. I tinkered with it, and now it seems ok at idle about 5-600rpm. At WOT only shows about 3k at 53mph. Props are ...

Re: New Cobalt Owners, 2000 226 in Kansas
Few random things fixed over the last week. Got the CC figured out tonight. I think somebody replaced the gear selector and trim at some point and just pulled the wiring back to there. Tied in a piece up to the switch on the dash and moved the CC breaker to a more accessible place. Should be on ...

Re: Loose wire by 50a breaker
I tied it back in with the 50a breaker for now. My best guess is that’s where it should go. Worst that happens is it pops the breaker until I find out for sure.

Re: Loose wire by 50a breaker
Maybe a better pic. Hopefully someone has theirs out and can snap a pic of theirs. My only though is that it goes to the hot post on the 50a breaker, but it already has a hot lead there?? Gotta love used boats!

Re: Loose wire by 50a breaker
I don’t believe it goes to the alt, I tried toning it, but everything with 12v power gave me tone lol. Wondering it if goes on one of the posts, just lost a nut off the back?Big Block Power wrote: Sun May 24, 2020 5:22 pm Does it go to the alt? If it's got 12v before the breaker then a battery or from starter. Other boys will chime in.

Loose wire by 50a breaker
Anyone have any thoughts on this wire? Troubleshooting some other wiring issues and it just started sparking. Got the batteries turned off and now trying to find where it goes. Boat is a 2000 226 with the 7.4gi. The wire appears to be factory and has 12v power on it . It starts without it but unsure ...

Re: New Cobalt Owners, 2000 226 in Kansas
At least the right part broke when it was supposed to. Always hate being towed in.
Yes, being towed in is the worst. By a jet ski makes it even worse. In my books the only thing worse than a jet ski would have been a pontoon boat! Lol.
New spline shaft is in and everything appears to be ...
