Well, broke down and purchased an F350 (2019) with the gas 6.2. Does great with the R5. Now to find a gently used R30....

Great advice and appreciated. I had an F-350 I traded for the Raptor two months before Covid showed up. Bought the R5 and have kicked myself multiple times but don't miss the cost of the diesel truck. Now that I am retired the 7.3 Ford is attractive to take the boat on longer (200 mile +) trips ...

Appreciate the responses. I have an F150 Raptor that handles the R5 well if I don't exceed 65 mph. Been looking to upgrade the truck to an F350 with the 7.3 V8 gas motor. We had the R5 on six different lakes in 2021 and love road tripping with the boat.

I have an R5 and am looking to upsize.upside. What is the largest R series boat that can be legally towed in the US? I don't live near water with a decent Marina so 75% of our trips are towed. Does an R30 and larger require permits?

I know, it's an odd sensation on my R5, almost like it hesitates and then takes off. My last several boats were diesel so I think I'm too torqe sensitive at low speeds. I tend to cruise not much higher than 35MPH as the crew complains and drinks spill.

I can live with that. Family gets grumpy over 40MPH but I will appreciate the acceleration, especially from 5-20MPH were the boat feels sluggish to get on plane. Thanks!

My 2020 came with an RH6 PROP and a 350 motor. Damaged my prop and the prop shop is suggesting replacing it with an RH5. Cost is the same, will there be a noticeable performance difference? It's a subject that I'm not familiar with...

Stupid question. There is a cooler under the passenger helm seat? The one that faces the door to the head? Never knew that in two years of owning our R5.

I ended up putting a fourth spring on the rear. It does fine at 65mph. Mileage goes to hell (under 10mpg) and it struggles on hills above 65MPH.

Anyone have one and do they fit in the bow anchor locker? I've been ordered to get an anchor ASAP!

I have observed that Cobalt sells pennants/burgees on the sport web page. Where and how are. People mounting/flying them?
