Thanks! I will get some better pics once I get it back to my stable and give her a good detail. The boat is powered with the volvo 6.2 380/w/Capt call. So if anyone comes up with the receipe to bring her to 430hp please let me know as its a big heavy boat.

The Cobalt A28 I looked at was amazingly beautiful but a boat that was beat to death by the owner! Long story short we bought a 2018 Chaparral 287SSX. Thanks for all your input!

I could have had it by end of july supposedly! They were willing to let us use the wrong boat for the month but it just didnt work out. No hard feelings! $tuff happens...

They built the stock boat R5 specs as opposed to my custom order. It was an honest mistake!
I am looking at used boats now! What's your opinion of the Cobalt 2015 A28 vs 2018 Chap 287ssx?

Bad news boys!! They built the wrong boat... so i canceled the order back to the drawing board!!!!

Never got factory pics!!! Yet its on its way and will be at the dealership sunday. I will pick up next week!

FWIW I have an R5 on the coast of RI, so we boat out from Pt Judith into the breakwater (which is more "lake like" in terms of wind chop, etc). Most of the time we then head south down the RI coast to the CT line, or sometimes out to Block Island which is 12 mi offshore. The R5 handles like a ...

They are not starting untill may 4th now... my boat was already in progress as i took over a stock hull. We will see!!

Have an R5 in Sebago now. Bigger is always better on the lake. We had a chap 226 ssi and it was good on sebago. R5 is better especially on those afternoons when the wind picks up. Best of luck. See you on the lake.
