Re: Volvo Penta ECU

Yes 8.1 gxi-h ser # 4012218738 . The boat only has 344 hours on it as its up in NH were we get 4 months of use per year. I understand thats impossible to keep parts readily available on boats over 7 years but computer module that runs the boat should be still available - ablank ECU should be flashed ...

The boat has been down since last summer with no news on the horizon. Cobalt blames VP for not having parts available which might be true but i ...

Re: 2007 8.1 272 starting issue

Update , I brought my boat to my local marine that works on VP - they checked it over for 5 hrs and couldn't find an answer ,they are reporting no spark . They also don't have the equipment to check the ecu codes and told me without spark you get read codes? Doesn't sound right to me. Local Cobalt ...

Re: 2007 8.1 272 starting issue

Well it sounds like it will need to be towed from the island to a certified Volvo Penta mechanic : ( I did hear a clung when key switch was on the on position coming from the ecu , hopefully it's still good as it looks like a $1800 part.

Re: 2007 8.1 272 starting issue

Would this be the cause of my fuel pump not priming and not firing up at all?

I took my fuel pumps off and brought them to my friend who is a boat mechanic down in my home town in Ma and he tested them out and both the high and low were fine - no paint clog ...

My buddy took that picture of my 293 from his boat, I love my 293 but we find the bow rider is my more practical up at our camp on Lake Winnipesaukee. I've advertised my 293 but when people hear its been in fresh, brackish/salt they ...
