Re: Steering Acuator
Just wanted to come back and close the loop on this thread, it was absolutely the steering cable. Now that is replaced, new steering wheel is installed, it's almost like a brand new boat.

Re: Cigarette Lighter
Just to close the loop on this one, it simply pried off from the collar on the front. Easy peasey.

Re: Steering Acuator
Had a chance to unhook the steering cable from the actuator, its was still very hard to turn the wheel. Couple that with slop in the steering wheel and decision is made to replace that before the actuator.

Steering Acuator
Back to trying to figure out why my steering is so hard on my 293 (twin 5.7 Volvo GXi, with DP outdrives). It seems like at slow speed I shouldn't have to use two hands to steer this boat, looking at the motors, both have power steering pumps. I went through the process to bleed both pumps this ...

Cigarette Lighter
Looking to replace the cigarette lighter with a marine grade usb plug. Does anyone know if the triangular panel that has this plug, the horn and two AUX toggles pops off or am I going to have to try to tech it from the access panel in the head?

Galley Lights not working?
Noticed this weekend that the lights in the galley and lights in the head aren't working. All breakers are on, where do I find fuses for these lights? Cobalt Owners Manual seems to have conflicting information, says that fuses are behind the gauges, or located behind the breaker panel in the galley ...

My tabs are definitely Bennett, can I replace the regular switch with the LED version?

Re: Trim switches don't work
We also did the trim sender at the same time, so easy on Volvo, I think it took us less than 45 minutes from start to finish. On a Merc we'd have to pull the outdrive.

Re: Transom Trim Switch for Volvo
I feel dumb asking this, as I've never had a transom mounted switch for the outdrives, what is the reason for wanting this?

Re: Trim switches don't work
I just had to replace the Hella relays on our 293's Port engine, now the drive trims just fine. I found them on Amazon for like $20 each but I'm sure most auto parts stores would have them for a little more.

Outlet in cedar closet - 293
I’m thinking the outside of the padded door to the cedar closet is a good spot to mount a TV, however I would need to get power to the closet. Has anyone done this, or have a better location in the cuddy for a TV?

We haven't been that far down the River yet. As far north as Singer Castle and south as Lake Ontario. Hoping to make it up to Morristown/Brockville this summer to see some friends.Anchor86 wrote: Thu May 29, 2025 5:31 am Looking good! Not many Cobalts at my end of the St Lawrence! Massena
