Re: Hi AGAIN.. (banned twice for "spamming..?!")

Welcome back for the second time (or was it three?) !!

Sorry for all the hassles and tribulations.

I’m glad you finally made it over here. It seems the forum traffic is reduced from years past. For some unfathomable reason, the Cobalt Facebook group is getting tons and tons of posts everyday. Go ...

Re: Another badly oxidized green Cobalt

The first time you post as a new user, it will shut you down if you make a bunch of posts (more than two or three, I think) before you've been approved, which usually takes a day. Just wanted you to know it's not intentional but is an automatic anti-spam tool measure we had to turn on due to all the ...

I checked your previous profile and it's not banned - please reach out to me with whatever problems/error messages you're getting, and I'll try to fix it.

Re: Hi AGAIN.. (banned twice for "spamming..?!")

I don't think you were banned - we require the first couple posts to be approved before they're posted to keep from being destroyed by spam bots who flood dozens of posts before being caught.

In other words, if you make a new profile and make a bunch of posts, it will hold your posts for approval ...

Re: 2012 273 sliding door locks

If you can remove the lock and take it to a locksmith, some are talented enough to make a key for a lock without having another key using a process called "impressioning" where they file the key down based on marks left by the pins when they try to turn the key against the locked lock.

Have you ...

Sounds like it's probably a bad ECU, which really requires a tow in to the dealer to fix (hopefully under warranty).

Re: Windlass circuit breaker location

I don't have an R33, but I'd check out the panel shown on p. 67 of the owner's manual at https://www.cobaltboats.com/sites/site.cobaltboats.dv.docwp1.stark-host.com/files/2026-05/2026_A29_R30_R33_R33Surf_R33OB_R35_R35OB_OM.pdf

It's not a great manual, but it suggests it may be in the cabin behind ...

Re: It's all about the bass...

I am a big fan of going with more power out the gate on the amplifier so you can add on another woofer later. In most applications a quality amp will be the most costly item in the system. Getting the expense done once and right will save money and headache down the road if upgrading.

Lots of ...

James, any reason not to go with the JL XDM600/1 for a 250W 10" sub? I do like that it has the power and the built-in terminals to add a second mono sub as well.

If you have photos showing condition you may get more responses. These days, I'd also try your local Facebook Marketplace page.

Re: Factory Arch Help

GreatShip,
Cobalt normally provides parts for seven years, and beyond that it may be on you to figure out a fix or find parts (which is typically possible). If your boat were in an accident such that you needed the arch replaced, it feels like odds are quite high you'd be looking for replacement ...

You typically push the button and hold it in before moving the throttle forward. Sounds like you already did that, or almost did that.

Re: Factory Arch Help

An OEM arch is really only going to be available from a boat junkyard, and it's pretty rare to find one with the arch still intact as it's a really commonly wanted part. It's not something your dealer or Cobalt can typically order for you.

Some places like Great Lakes Skipper occasionally list ...
