Re: Newbie in Utah

Finally got a break from rain and responsibility and got the boat wet again.
Just a few hours on the water with the kids and some friends.
Kids all loved getting to drive the boat in circles, and then playing around on the kayaks. Sure is a good way to spend a spring Saturday.

Re: Newbie in Utah

Parts arrived for the next project. Wish me luck.
New bearings all around, new hubs for the front axle, new disc brakes for the rear axle, and new surge coupler.

Re: Trailer Bearing Seal

Wow, how did I miss that?
And why did I put the hub back on after taking the pictures?

Thanks, BB.

Still think I want to change to disc brakes though. . .

Trailer Bearing Seal

Any one ever have trouble finding the correct bearing seal for their trailer?

I have a 1998 23LS. The hub has inner bearing L68149 and outer bearing L44649 - which is a very common bearing pair for a 3500 lb axle with a 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern and #84 spindle.

The problem I'm having is that ...

Re: Newbie in Utah

Very cool to see you on the water. There are numbers on the side of the brains stamped in them. Clean them real good and take a picture of them and blow them up bigger to read them. Then Google that bearing number and all of the trailer companies will have them. They really pretty much only have a ...

Nothing fancy here, but gets the job done.
2005 F150 lariat - hard to find a front bench seat with leather interior, but this has it, which is good because we use all 6 seatbelts.
And our new (1998) Cobalt 23LS

But to have something to aspire to, I put my mad Photoshop skills to the test to see how ...

Re: Newbie in Utah

So not sure what broke first, but all the mangled springs and pieces of metal fell out when I took the hub off, and the pads were not on opposite sides of the hub where they belong, they we're spooning on the same side.

Hey Jeeper, I’m pretty close in American Fork if you ever need any help. I just picked up a 2006 272 and I’m about to sell the 1999 232 in my sig.

-Nate

We are almost neighbors. Your 232 should sell pretty fast this time of year. I just sold my 190. Congratulations on the 272.

Re: Newbie in Utah

Hey all, thanks for the welcome. And a 'hey neighbor' to the fellow Utahns.

Went for a maiden voyage today (to American Fork, ironically, but didn't run into Mr Hahn, maybe next time)
67 degree air temperature, 36 degree water temperature.
Boat was awesome. Easy 55 mph and smooth as can be. Kids ...

Newbie in Utah

Hi everyone.

New guy in Utah with a couple little kids.
Picked up a 1998 23LS with the 7.4 Merc bravo3 last week and have fallen in love. Have had a few boats in the past, usually an 18-20 runabout that gets you out on the water, but this 23LS feels like a big step up, so I'm excited.
Spent the ...
