docking light cover removal
I have a 2006 220 with factory docking lights. I have the MR16 led bulbs to replace the stock halogens. My question is how do the faceplates come off, or rather what comes with them? There appears to be a ring attached to the housing somehow that probably holds the glass lens in place. Does all of ...

Re: 220 Fender "Silos" - Options?
I have a 2006 220. I discovered that one of my fenders (Taylormade) is slightly smaller in diameter than the other. I was able to pick up another that was also smaller. They are not precision machined. I let a little air out to help and I waxed the inside of the tube. They are still a snug fit, but ...

Re: 2006 220 questions
I did it. Very easy. I borrowed a gauge from O'Reilly's. Once I verified the problem I ordered a new fuel pressure regulator from Mancave Mechanic. VP part# 3858967. The VP part appears to be made by Bosch and the one I received looks like a Bosch too and it was 1/5th the cost of the VP part. It is ...

Re: 2006 220 questions
Thought I would post an update in case anyone else comes across this issue. I replaced plugs, wires, cap, and rotor with oem. No change - soot buildup on every run. After some further investigating I got a fuel pressure gauge. The pressure at idle was over 100 psi not the 50-60 it should be. No ...

2006 220 questions-Soot and Fuel pressure regulator
I have a 2006 220 with a VP 5.7 GI-E and DP. It has been a good boat and we love it, but I have a couple of nagging issues that may or not be related.
It would tend to die once in awhile when coming off of the throttle and would struggle to idle smoothly at no wake speed. A couple of years ago I ...

Re: 2006 gas fill cap help identification - lost in Lake Erie
My 2006 220 had the same cap, but the keeper wire was badly frayed so I had it replaced with a more current model by the Cobalt dealer. I have the one that was removed, but it does not have the keeper. PM me if that would help if you can't find one online.

Re: New Member 220 at TRL
MikeBo,
I bought the boat in McKinney, Texas and got it done there. The guy's name was Brandon - Brandon@yachtserviceinc.com. I don't know about local here, but he might. I have been to Stilwell - my grand parents had a farm near Chiles back in the 1950's.

Re: New Member 220 at TRL
I considered putting it on the outside, but it seemed to fit better this way. It has not been an issue, but I think it would work either way.

We are close to point 16 on TRL, just north of the Baxter Marina. We were not at the Regatta. We had company. When you live at the lake it becomes a B&B in the summer. We enjoy it.

Re: New Member 220 at TRL
BBP the hardest part of adding the gas struts was finding the right brackets. I had to settle for plated steel rather than stainless, but they seem to be doing ok so far.

I think these are the brackets I used to attach to the fiberglass: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004713BR2?

New Member 220 at TRL
Hey everybody. I have been a member for a year or so, but have been so wrapped up in researching issues and learning from all of your experiences that I never noticed the new member section. Thought I should properly introduce us. We acquired a 2006 220 in April of last year after having a Sea Ray ...

We have it on ours and like it. It ties in the floor covering and it is not slippery for a stray grand kid.

Re: operating temp not steady
Sorry I haven't posted a follow up. It has been a crazy year. Here is the Paul Harvey version. I mentioned in my first post that I had replaced both pump output hoses. What I didn't mention is that both were replaced after splitting while we were out for a cruise. A great way to instill confidence ...

operating temp not steady
I have a new to me 2006 220 with the VP5.7Gi-E and duoprop. The engine seemed slow to reach operating temp and the temp would not stay steady. It would warm to about 165-170 and then fall clear to 120. This cycle would continually repeat. I changed the thermostat thinking that it was most likely the ...
