I’m considering the purchase of a 1979 Cobalt 19br.

- Two owners since new.
- Fresh water only
- Always in a covered hoist
- Off season always stored in fully enclosed building.

Specific question:

Is this model known for structural deficiencies from the moment it left the factory in 1979?

The boat is in heated storage some distance from our home. When I'm next that way I will stop and better analyze what I have and what I need.

My new to me 1990 Cobalt 21br has lost its Factory ORIGINAL stern light. I'd like to locate an original in good to great condition.

However, a friend suggests wet-sanding instead of buffing.

Regarding a boat's top end speed, I can genuinely appreciate that many models now easily do more than 50mph. I smile as I share with you all that in my youth my Dad and I were thrilled
