Re: CS22 spec questions

“Worried” I am not. In the grand scheme of things, a new boat isn’t my highest priority.

Re: CS22 spec questions

Sorry all — I haven’t been on the forum lately. There have been too many other things on my mind, or what’s left of it... It also didn’t help that notifications of thread posts all went to the spam folder.
Delivery date: I have not heard a word since February. It was supposed to go into production ...

Re: CS22 spec questions

Order is placed and there's money on the table now, so I guess it's real...

For the record, here's the final spec. You'll see I took most of the advice you offered.
VP 280C DP
Navy Blue, yellow swim platform sides
Bimini
Bow and cockpit tonneaus (the mooring cover didn't seem like it would work ...

Re: CS22 spec questions

A few thoughts;

I think I'd add the fender clips unless you seldom tie up. I find them really handy when I come and go from my slip. When I motored into the city last fall, I had a second set of fenders set up to match the dock height at the local waterside market and just clipped those on ...

Re: CS22 spec questions

Thank you all -- much appreciated. Mark, I really don't know why I thought I'd go with tonneaus, but I think the mooring cover really would make more sense. As cozy as "valet" sounds, it's pretty darned dusty in there. Thanks for jogging my thinking.

John, that's great info about the Sof-Trac. I ...

Re: CS22 spec questions

Thanks, BBP. I have high hopes. As I mentioned in a post last year, I've been impressed by Cobalt for many years and have long felt that you get what you pay for. (We sure did...) I was shocked when my wife jumped onto the Cobalt bandwagon this winter. I'd have never predicted it.

Re: CS22 spec questions

Thanks for your thoughts.
* That's very interesting and disappointing about the fender clips.
* We'll talk about the bfc. I'm surprised it's that useful, but that's why I'm asking questions.
* For some reason my wife does not want Sof-Trac in the cockpit, so there you go.
* We didn't upgrade the ...

Re: CS22 spec questions

What happened was that we bought an old cuddy. This was not based on what we wanted, but rather on what we thought other people wanted and needed, especially an elderly and infirm parent who wants to be on the water. Those needs translated into a boat with a cabin and a head. Then, being a first ...

CS22 spec questions

Hi all. I introduced myself last year around this time as a prospective boat owner. Since then, we've learned some expensive lessons by buying a boat that was wrong in every way based on mistaken expectations of how we might use it. It's been a miserable boating year, but we are smarter than we were ...

Info sought on the 246

I have a lead on a 2003 246, navy blue with a 5.7 GXi DP. The boat isn't available to look at yet and probably won't be 'til spring. I hear it's pretty clean, but I do not know anything more specific. However, it's close enough to what we're looking for that I'd like to be prepared when it hits the ...

Re: How did you get into boating?

Thanks, AK. Obviously my assumption was wrong.

BB, if by George’s you mean Boats by George, they’re a couple of hours away. They’re on Lake George, not Champlain, and they don’t have many used Cobalts. They have only two boats newer than the year 2000, and the older ones are pretty tired. I was ...

Thanks, all. I love the stories (or should I say “loce?”). They make great reading as the rain falls and freezes outside...

I think we’ll know more than we do now once we go to Boston for the boat show this weekend. (Turns out my wife’s most important criterion is that the boat have a head ...

How did you get into boating?

I checked in here briefly last fall because of a newfound interest in boating. Since then, we’ve done nothing except maybe develop contradictory ideas about what we want (and what we want to pay to get it :? ). I think we’ll attend the New England Boat Show this weekend and see if that helps. It ...
