Re: Bravo 3 Ratios
If you are going from a high altitude area to zero, there is no need to change drives or gears. You just need to change the props out to a higher pitch propmset. when going to a low altitude, run the boat with the props you have, see how it eiher hits or blow past the rev limiter. A place like ...

Re: Blown Motor VP 380
My A25 was also one of very few with that motor, not sure if they would let me do it again now Malibu owns them. The Cobalt I had before this one had the 8.2 430hp merc, with captains call. I really do miss that feature and loved it. It fits every mood you are in that day, loud and obnoxious, or a ...

Re: Blown Motor VP 380
I think we were having our boats built at the same time back in 2016 possibly. When my A25 with the Merc 520 was being test ran at the factory test lake, they were comparing speeds and prop sizes between my A25 and a black R5. I went with the merc racing x- exhaust system, cost me a mph or 2, but ...

Re: How many A25s?
The A series boats are heavy, not really speed boats, but it handles and runs pretty good for the model boat it is. Like driving a nice comfy cadilac down the road, but then it will wake up, and run to 60 like a little jet boat when wanted. I also like that it will cruise at 45mph at 3500rpm. Just ...

Re: Fender issue - looking for suggestions
Sorry for the slow response, I did not reply due to not logging in for a while. To the person that asked about what brand of fender covers I use, I use the "Polyform" brand and you can find them on Amazon or the direct website. On my 2nd season with them, they are very durable and well made, and I ...

Re: Fender issue - looking for suggestions
I tie up with many different boats.... Wake boats, Regals, Cobalts and pontoons. I struggled for a while trying to figure out a solution that could take some waves, not damage the boat and also not scar or scuff the gel coat. My final solution was I have 4 big 8"x24" fenders along with 2 of the ...

Re: Probably a stupid question from a mechanical idiot
I have the same big mable tube, I just had to invest in the biggest tow rope for it is all. Like the previous relpy, you will not hurt the boats drive or engine at all. Cobalt does have a weight limit on the pole down low, and has a much lesser weight tow limit on the tower, so be careful if towing ...

Re: Advice - 2014 220s Project: Transom vs Tower Speakers
Excellent choice on the Rockfords..👍 My last boat, and my current boat are all Rockford, from amps, head units and speakers. I boat and tie up with many boaters, some extreme sound fanatics and the only thing comparable would be JL...IMO. Those tower speakers can throw sound really far, and still be ...

Re: New Owner, mooring cover vs. tonneau snaps?
I wanted CC just like my last boat, but Cobalt and merc racing refused to exhaust thru prop in any way shape or form. They will only exhaust thru hull with mufflers, or the X-haust. Due to noise restrictions, I went with the Xhaust. It exhausts below water off plane, and exhausts downward when up on ...

Re: New Owner, mooring cover vs. tonneau snaps?
The mooring cover runs 62gps with the Bravo 1 lower, and 60gps with the Bravo 3 lower, I have had both on it. It has the merc racing X-haust, so its fairly quiet. Will launch and out run most new jet boats with acceleration. Will do the same top speeds with 2 or 10 people on board, it doesnt ...

Re: Battery size requirements for starting/jamming tunes
I run, and have very happy with my dual Optima 31 Blue tops. One of them alone will push 2-Rockford T2 12's, powered by dual 1200 watt sub amps, along with 10- Rockford 6.5s and tower speakers, powered by 2-600 watt amps, 4 amps total. The other battery is designated for my engine. Can play loud for ...
